Summary:

We are looking for a skilled Purchasing Agent to procure crop protection chemicals and seed necessary for our business. The ideal candidate will be a resourceful, organized, pro-active, problem-solving individual with a keen eye for detail. Communication skills are vital to this position. The goal is to acquire materials that are critical for the success of our business operations.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Prepare purchase orders for 7 branch locations by verifying quantity and pricing.
  • Verify purchase requisitions by comparing items requested to current inventory and recommends alternatives.
  • Provides purchasing planning and control information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
  • Verify receipt of items by comparing items received to items ordered; resolves shipment errors with suppliers.
  • Communicate with branch purchasing contacts daily by phone, email, and fax.
  • Reconcile and electronically report sales and inventory as required by deadlines.
  • Create and maintain product information and costs in business software system.
  • Participate in weekly supply and market intel conference calls.

Position: Accounts Receivable Clerk,

Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated Accounts Receivable Clerk with excellent customer service skills. This role is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of customer payments, statements, and promptly responding to customer inquiries regarding their accounts. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are important for this role due to frequent interaction with customers, management, and colleagues. This position requires a high level of organizational skills and the ability to handle a high volume of transactions and customer calls in a timely manner.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Responsible for all aspects of Accounts Receivable such as collections, reconciliations, deposits, and cash applications.
  • Work with customers, sales team, and managers to research and resolve Accounts Receivable discrepancies and/or collections issues.
  • Setup new customer accounts and maintain existing ones.
  • Assist with preparing and reviewing customer receivables aging and initiating collections on past-due accounts.
  • Promptly handle high volume of incoming customer calls and emails.

Position: Operations Associate,

Summary:

The Operations Associate will work closely with various positions within the company’s Operations department. Responsible for being the first to receive, inspect and wash all fertilizer and yard equipment. The Operations Associate plays an important role in providing clean, functional and ready to used equipment at a fast pace.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Wash and inspect all fertilizer and yard equipment (i.e. such as bulk tanks, spreaders, hoses, etc.)
  • Move and organize all yard equipment.
  • Operate equipment such as a forklift, tractor and loader.
  • Remain knowledgeable of chemicals/material at facility and specific PPE requirements.
  • Ensure the work area is clean, organized, and that all safety procedures are being followed at all times by yourself and your team mates.

Position: Materials Handler,

Summary:

The Materials Handler position is responsible for operating powered equipment for the purpose of moving, locating, relocating, stacking, counting product and pulling and preparing orders for delive1y. Helps support company operations by maintaining the flow of materials and products in manufacturing areas according to established guidelines. Responsible for helping to keep the warehouse space neat and orderly.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Pull and prepare orders for shipment, delivering the proper paperwork, packaging, and quantity for each order to the required destination in shipping and receiving.
  • Operate a forklift, hand truck, pallet jack, tractor, and all other necessary equipment.
  • Utilize computer equipment to print and stage orders.
  • Receive, verify, stage, and stock incoming materials.
  • Remain knowledgeable of chemicals/material at facility and specific PPE requirements.
  • Ensure the warehouse area is cleaned and that all safety procedures are being followed at all times by yourself and your teammates.
  • Organize material in the warehouse to utilize available space and minimize steps when pulling orders.
  • Inspect and maintain warehouse equipment.
  • Attach identifying tags or mark product with identifying information.
  • Read work orders and receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or materials or equipment needs.
  • Assist office personnel with monthly physical inventory counts.

Position: Shop Technician,

Summary:

Independently performs advanced troubleshooting, repairs, maintenance, assembles and overhauls agricultural equipment and company vehicles. Completes tasks in a safe and timely manner. Assists with other operations as needed.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Conduct regular maintenance on machinery, systems, and automotive vehicles.
  • Examine machines and perform troubleshooting tests to determine functionality problems.
  • Monitor inventory and request new parts when necessary.
  • Perform diagnostic procedures and repair vehicles or equipment in the field.
  • Weld and fabricate, as needed.
  • Use computer diagnostic tooling for repairs.
  • Knowledge of or able to learn mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in the repair of equipment, machinery, and vehicles.
  • Assemble mechanical components according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments.
  • Operate a forklift, hand truck, pallet jack, tractor, and other warehouse, shop, or yard equipment. (Training and certification can be obtained through MVAS)
  • Maintain records on all required vehicles and equipment.
  • Maintain condition of vehicles, equipment, inventory and tools.
  • Prioritize and schedule routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment to facilitate a smooth and efficient workflow.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance in compliance with DOT guidelines.
  • Maintain current and accurate labeling on all equipment and tanks.
  • Keep a clean work area and perform work in a neat and orderly manner.
  • Keep accurate clerical records for all time worked, materials used, and inventory.

Position: Seasonal Field Scout,

Summary:

Assist in providing support and data collection for Pest Control Advisors (PCA). Perform diversified field related activities assigned by PCA’s and Branch Managers. Helps PCA’s provide timely and excellent service and recommendations to growers.

Essential Functions:

  • Walking orchards, vineyards or row crops to identify and check for specific pests, weeds, insects and diseases.
  • Collect soil, tissue, leaf and water samples.
  • Routinely set and maintain traps and lures.
  • Create and read maps for blocks of land covered by the PCA.
  • Observe and collect field data and communicate all reports and findings to PCA’s and the Branch Manager.
  • Complete daily and weekly scouting reports.

Responsibilities:

  • Communicate all findings and reporting’s to the PCAs to help develop seasonal fertilizer plans and pest control programs for a variety of crops.
  • Reporting accurate insect counts on a timely basis.
  • Ensuring a sufficient inventory for traps and lures materials.
  • The ability to construct traps, correctly adhere lures and guarantee proper installation.
  • Frequently check and replace adhesive portion of traps and ensure lure effectiveness.
  • Schedule and prioritize all activities, daily/weekly routes to ensure optimal quality and efficiency.
  • Research based activities to help identify and learn various diseases and insects.
  • Maintaining company supplied vehicle and routinely inspect the vehicle for any noticeable problems.
  • Uphold and comply with driving safety rules, as well as all safety policies of the company.
  • Help maintain relationships and communication with growers and Mid Valley.

Special Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Class A or Class C (Clean DMV Record)
    • For Class A, HazMat and Tanker endorsements preferred (able to obtain)
    • For Class C, able and willing to obtain Class A (company will help)
